Invitation to Submit Papers for VISTAS 2010
We are sending you this invitation to submit a paper for VISTAS 2010 because you are no doubt a counseling professional with important ideas and resources that you want to share with your peers.
As you may know, ACA and Counseling Outfitters established the VISTAS database in 2004 as a means of capturing the valuable knowledge and resources that are shared at the ACA annual conferences. In 2007, NCDA joined the VISTAS initiative, and the submission invitation was extended to NCDA conference presenters. In 2008, ACES conference presenters were invited to submit papers. As a result, VISTAS Online has now become a major source of counseling information, with an online library of over 350 full-text articles and 29 concise, informative Professional Counseling Digests.
For 2010, the annual VISTAS publication will become totally digital, but will retain the competitive peer-review process for the selection of articles for inclusion. Another change for 2010 is that papers submitted no longer need to be related to a conference program. If you have developed a practice or program that works for a particular population or have conducted research that has practical implications, we strongly urge you to prepare and submit a VISTAS paper so that you can share your knowledge and resources with others. Members of the peer review panel composed of nationally recognized counseling leaders and subject matter specialists must recommend the paper. However, without the restrictive costs associated with producing a print volume, all papers that meet the criteria for quality, content, and utility can now be accepted for inclusion in VISTAS 2010.
